Prof. Charles I. Tobin-West

Charles Tobin-West is a Public Health physician and a Professor of Public Health with subspecialty expertise in epidemiology and Health Systems Management. He teaches epidemiology and research methods at the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, College of Health Sciences University of Port Harcourt. He is also the Deputy Director and Coordinator of the Epidemiology Programme of the School of Public Health, University of Port Harcourt. At the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, he is a Consultant Community Health Physician and Head of the Family Welfare Unit of the Department of Community Medicine.
Prof. Tobin-West has over 22 years of experience in teaching and research and has published over 70 articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals. He is widely travelled and presented research papers at local and international conferences.
Prof. Tobin-West holds an MD in Medicine, a Master of Public Health (MPH), a professional Fellowship degree in Public Health (FMCPH), and a Doctorate in Public Health from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He is married with four children.
Prof. Kingsley Enyinnah Douglas

Kingsley Enyinnah Douglas is a Professor and Consultant Occupational and Public Health Physician. He is of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine of the Faculty of Clinical Medicine at the College of Health Sciences, University of Port Harcourt. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed articles in high impact local and international journals. He teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is an external examiner to several medical schools at undergraduate and postgraduate levels respectively. He is an examiner to the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and has trained at least 12 consultants and counting in the field of Occupational and Public Health. He has attended and presented at various local and international conferences. He is happily married to Oghenekevwe, and they are blessed with three children.
DR IFEOMA CHINYERE OFURUM,

Dr. Ifeoma Ofurum is a distinguished healthcare professional and academic, with extensive expertise in nursing, public health, and community health. She began her academic journey with a BSc in Microbiology, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and a master’s degree in business administration, all from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She also earned a master’s degree in Public Health and a PhD in Public Health, specializing in Population, Sexual, and Reproductive Health, from the University of Port Harcourt. Additionally, she holds a second PhD in Community Health from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt.
Dr. Ofurum’s career spans over 17 years as a health administrator at the Health Services Department and the University of Port Harcourt Youth Friendly Centre. During this period, she rose to the position of Principal Assistant Registrar. Her responsibilities included coordinating HIV/AIDS-related programs for students and staff and addressing sexual and reproductive health issues among young people. In 2023, she transitioned to academia and now lectures in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, University of Port Harcourt.
