UNIPORT Congregation to Elect New Representatives into Council, Committees

The University of Port Harcourt will tomorrow, Thursday, 17th April, 2025, conduct elections to select new Representatives of Congregation into the Governing Council, Boards, and Committees of the institution.

The election, which marks the end of the four-year tenure of current representatives, will take place during the 77th Meeting of Congregation scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the New Convocation Arena, University Park.

According to a memorandum issued by the Registrar, 16 different Boards and Committees are involved in the election, including the Governing Council, Academic and SPATS A&PC, Capital/Procurement Committee, University Press, and Health & Medical Services Advisory Board, among others.

A total of 32 representatives are expected to be elected into the various committees, with positions spread across academic, administrative, and technical staff categories.

All members of Congregation are cordially invited to attend the meeting and are advised to be seated on time for the smooth conduct of proceedings.
