PROFESSOR ADANNA HENRI-UKOHA

Prof. Adanna Henri-Ukoha is a professor of agricultural economics with a specialty in resource and environmental economics in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics and has extensive teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. With expertise in agribusiness and environmental economics, she has supervised numerous theses and mentored students over the years.

She has over 100 peer-reviewed publications, 24 conference proceedings, seven chapters in books, and diverse research interests, including gender, climate change, and food security among others.

A highly accomplished academic, she has secured multiple research and travel grants and a Fellow of TechWomen, N-SLP, AIMS-NEI among others. Her achievements include leading successful program accreditations, publishing extensively, mentoring globally, and actively participating in university committees.  She volunteers in STEM outreach as well as capacity building initiatives that empower women farmers.

She has extensive administrative experience, including serving as Head of Department and chairing research committees. She is an active member of professional bodies, committed to community development, and skilled in training and consultancy for agricultural empowerment. As a resource person and reviewer, she contributes to academic excellence and advocate for food security.


DR UGWUJA VIVIAN CHINELO

Dr Ugwuja Vivian Chinelo is an Associate Professor  in theDepartment of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management, University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She obtained her B.Agric (Animal Science) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka and was the best graduating student for the year 2001. She obtained her M.Sc in Agricultural Economics from Rivers State University of Science and Technology in 2010, and her doctorate degree in Agricultural Finance  and Project Analysis from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2016.

 Her research interests include rural development, microfinance, digital finance and cybersecurity. She has practical experience with community youth and women cooperatives where she has been involved in enterprise development for the youths and women. She is currently the chairperson, UNIPORT CHOBA SEEFOR/Fadama Community Association, a World Bank assisted project.  She was a Postdoctoral research fellow from 2017-2019 and Project Lead of AXA Outreach Programme from 2022-2023, awarded and sponsored by AXA Research Fund Group, honoured to be the first Nigerian awardee.

She has published a chapter in a book, many journals (national and international) and conference proceedings, she has attended conferences, workshops and trainings. She is a member of Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE), Agricultural Policy Research Network (APRNet) and Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). She also belongs to so many committees both in the university and religious bodies


ZELDA ANNE OMASANUWA

Dr Zelda Anne Omasanuwa (née Elum) is an Associate Professor in Production Economics, in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Port Harcourt. She obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture in Fisheries from the University of Benin, Nigeria; MSc in Agricultural Economics from Imperial College London and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India. She was a Visiting Postdoc Fellow under the ACU/AAS CIRCLE Program at the University of South Africa, South Africa. Her research interests evolve around agricultural finance, production efficiency, agricultural marketing, climate change impacts on agriculture, adaptation, green economy transition, sustainable development, food and nutrition security, agricultural policies and gender studies. Dr Omasanuwa has published papers in notable national and international peer-reviewed journals; reviews for many reputable academic journals; engages in public lectures and agriculture research workshops and trainings. Dr Omasanuwa, is a beneficiary of research grants from notable organisations like the Academy of Sciences (AAS), Royal Society of London, Nigeria Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the German Research Foundation (DFG). She is a registered member of Professional Associations such as the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE) and the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE).
