Dr. Omotanwa Oluwatosin Tanimola obtained a PhD in Plant Ecology from the University of Ibadan. She is a Lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She is committed to research focused on weed species in relationship with crops and other plants, identification and distribution of invasive plant species in relation to native species with the view to ensuring their eco-friendly management. She has attended and presented papers at local and international conferences and workshops of scientific societies. Dr. Tanimola is a member of local and international professional societies such as the Ecological Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Plant Protection and Weed Science Society of Nigeria amongst others. She is passionate about impacting lives and her immediate enviroment.

GOGO JOHNSON ARTHUR

I am a lecturer 11 in the Department of Crop and Soil Science with specialty in Soil Physics and Conservation, a registered member of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria with over four years’ experience in teaching, research and community services. Employed as an assistant lecturer in the year November, 2020. As an academia I work with student in farm practices to Survey a demonstration farm plots that gave birth to the establishment of departmental farm under my supervision which currently generate revenue for the department. I collaborated with the Head of Department to establish a lawn and a relaxation center. Have also supervised over five undergraduate student projects as well pushing for my PhD. In collaboration with other colleagues, we published several per review articles on both foreign and local journals, I have served in various committees for the department and faculty and hold few appointments at the departmental, faculty and university wide levels. I have also attended few professional association conferences and workshops.
My greatest desire is to constantly improves myself so as to contribute to the overall growth and development of my department in particular and the university at large.

EDUCATION: Primary education was at State School 1, Omerelu, while Secondary school was at St. Aquinas’ Secondary School Elele, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
I obtained Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) degree in Agriculture in 1987.
I had Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Crop Science in 2005; and In 2010, I obtained a PhD in Crop Science (Plant Breeding option), all at Rivers State University. I attended several workshops and conferences both within and outside the country (The Netherland, Spain, France, Senegal, and Israel).
WORK EXPERIENCE: In 1989 I was employed by Rivers State Agricultural Development Programme. Later in 1990, I got employment with Risonpalm limited (now SIAT company). While in the company, I rose to various positions from becoming a Plantation Manager to Estate Manager. In 2019, I gained employment with University of Port Harcourt as an Assistant lecturer. In the University, I held severally positions such as Director of Institute of Agricultural Research and Development (IAR&D).
SKILLS AND EXPERTISE: Project/Crop establishment and management. I published over forty (40) researched papers in National and International Journals. Finally, I have received several Awards and Honours.
Olutayo Modupeola Adedokun

Olutayo’s field of research is Horticulture with a keen interest in Mushroom Biotechnology and value addition. She is currently working on Organic Agriculture, Biofortification of indigenous mushrooms, Molecular transformation of wild edible mushrooms for production and sensitizing the populace on mushrooms & their importance. She is a Prof. of Horticulture (Mycoscience), a Fellow of the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), and a PECB ISO 21502 Senior Lead Project Manager. Olutayo is a member of Professional Organizations, including; the Horticultural Society of Nigeria (HORTSON), the International Society of Mushroom Science (ISMS), International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) etc. She has published articles in reputable Journals both in Nigeria and internationally. Her major contributions to knowledge focus on valorisation of wastes to useful agricultural products and soil amendments, bio/mycoremediation of crude oil and oil products contaminated environments, nutraceutical and medicinal values of mushrooms. She has been involved in identification of several species of indigenous mushrooms using molecular techniques. Olutayo is an ardent researcher, farmer, consultant, mycophagist and a good team player.
Adebowale Adegboyega Tanimola

Prof. Adebowale A. Tanimola obtained a PhD in Nematology from the University of Ibadan. He is a Professor of Nematology at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. An expert in plant protection with emphasis on plant nematology, environmental nematology, eco-friendly management options for nematode pests and conservation agriculture.
He has attended and presented papers at local and international conferences and workshops of scientific societies. He has published over 50 academic papers in revered local and international journals; and supervised in research several undergraduate and graduate students. Prof. Tanimola is a member of local and international professional societies such as the Nigerian Society of Nematologists, Nigerian Society of Plant Protection, Weed Science Society of Nigeria, and International Society for Conservation Biology amongst others. He is a member of several editorial teams, associate editor for the Nigerian Journal of Agricultural Technology and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Nematology.
Prof. ‘Debo Tanimola collaborates with others in research for the advancement of knowledge across institutions and recently driving research in horticultural and forest nematology passionately. He is passionate about impacting lives that will impact the world for good.

Bassey Udom is a Professor of Soil Physics and Conservation at the Department of Crop and Soil Science, and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Agricultural Research, University of Port Harcourt. He has a PhD and MSc. Degrees in Soil Physics/Conservation from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has attended many Scientific Meetings and Conferences within and outside Nigeria. Among which include: Representing Nigeria in Moscow 2017 Scientific Meeting on Global Collaboration in Soil Science and Food Security, attended College on Soil Physics at International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. Researcher’s Links by British Council, Conference on Soil Evaporation and Water Productivity at Trieste, Italy and other National and International Soil Science Meetings. He has reviewed many Scientific Articles for National and International Journals including the Elservier, British Journal of Soil Science, and Taylor & Francis. He has a number of scientific publications in International and National referred Journals. He taught courses in Soil Physics, Soil Management, Irrigation and Drainage stress areas and Climatology at the Graduate and Undergraduate levels. Supervision of Graduate and Undergraduate research works. Current research interest is on soil organic carbon sequestration, humic substances, aggregate stability and carbohydrates, management of tropical soils.
