PROF. HELLEN SOKARI A-OKUJAGU

Hellen Sokari A-Okujagu,
Early Childhood and Primary Education,
Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt

Hellen Sokari A-Okujagu was born on the 13th of January 1966 in Okrika LGA to Elder Roderick Sokari Iwo and Matilda Akujurure Iwo. She started primary school in Bille, in Kalabari kingdom, attended State school Tombia and finished at Boyle Memorial State school Bonny. Hellen attended government girls secondary school Finima in Bonny. She proceeded to the Rivers State College of Education where she obtained an NCE in Primary Education under the University of Ibadan curriculum. With high grades, Hellen ran a two years degree programme and made a second class upper division in Elementary Education from the University of Calabar in 1990. With that, she rendered a one year service to her dear nation Nigeria and took a graduate assistants job in the then College of Education Port-Harcourt now Ignatius Ajuru University of Education as a Lecturer in 1991 in the Primary Education studies department. She holds master degree in Educational Management & Administration from the then University of Science and Technology Port Harcourt, Diploma in computer Appreciation, YADAH and a Ph.D. in Elementary Edu, University of Calabar.  As a Teacher, she has occupied many positions with challenging responsibilities. Some of which are: Rivers state coordinator for English Language Teachers Association Nig. ELTAN, 2022; Associate Dean, Faculty of Education, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, 2018 till date; Acting Head, Primary Education Studies Department, 2012-2016; Member: Jolly Phonics Academic Monitoring Team, Rivers State University of Education Primary Schools and Universal Learning Solution 2010-2019; Pro-tem Treasurer: Rivers State University of Education Alumni  2009-2010; welfare officer for ASUU Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, 2012-2015; Vice-President Post Graduate Students Government, University of Calabar, 2007/2008. Over the years, she has acquired membership of over thirty-five (35) learned societies, conducted researches in early childhood and primary education in more than 25 child relevant areas, attended more than fifty (50) conferences and workshops. Authored two (4) books and have contributed chapters in five (5) text books. She has 61 articles, foreign, national and workshop papers inclusive. She has taught over thirty (30) different courses in higher institutions at NCE, B.Ed, M.Ed and Ph.D levels. Hellen has served as a resource person in more than 35 workshops in academic and community services.  Hellen is a poet, comic relief composer and a very confident predictive short story writer. She is a very cheerful, sociable, humble and approachable individual with the progress of her colleagues and the improvement of her students at heart. She has 32years teaching experience. Hellen is a Professor of Early Childhood and Primary Education. She is married and blessed with four children and three granddaughters.


GODFREY- KALIO. ISEYECHINBO ADOKIYE

Godfrey-Kalio, Iseyechinbo Adokiye, PhD, is a Lecturer in the Early Childhood and Primary Education Department at the University of Port Harcourt. Dr Godfrey-Kalio’s research work is mainly in early childhood and primary education. In the first, she studies Guidance and Counselling. Later, she specializes in elementary education otherwise known as primary education. Dr Godfrey-Kalio focuses on early childhood and primary school education and published several articles in both national and international journals.  Dr Godfrey-Kalio earned her PhD from University of Calabar, Calabar in curriculum and teaching (elementary education) and B.Ed in guidance and counselling from University of Ibadan. She had experiences in teaching and assessment of students. She was appointed as time table officer in the department of early childhood and primary Education, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Officer, and other engagements in the department. Dr Godfrey-Kalio is a member of some professional bodies such as ACEAN, ECAN and TRCN. She is the current the Head of the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Department.


OSIRI-EME, IBIMINA FELICIA

Osiri-Eme Ibimina Felicia, PhD, is a Lecturer in the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of Port Harcourt. Osiri-Eme’s research is the use of technology to develop creative art among primary school pupils. She first studies French and later proceed to study Primary Education at Masters Level. She had her PhD in the same field- Primary Education. Osiri-Eme’s research works were published in several journals both national and international. Her prior experiences include teaching, assessment of students, examination officer and course advisor to students. She is a member of some professional bodies such as ACEAN, ECAN and TRCN.


Dr Anya Ulunma Ukamaka

Dr U.U. Anya hails from Ebem Ohafia in Ohafia local government area of Abia State Nigeria, she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate and her National Examination Council Certificate respectively, she furthered her   Higher Education at Alvan Ikoku College of Education where she had  the Nigerian Certificate in Education in Primary Education and English language, thereafter, she pursued for her first degree at Rivers State College of Education affiliated to University of Ibadan where she had her bachelor degree in Primary Education. She had Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Uyo. She also had a Doctorate degree in Early Childhood Education from the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt. She is happily married to Mr Anya Agwu Onwuka and the marriage was blessed with four children three boys and one girl.


Owushi Ngozi Justina

Owushi Ngozi Justina hails from Imilike in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State where she equally obtained her primary school education at Ogene Premier school Imilike-Enu in her 1989-1994. She attended Eyaen Community Secondary School, Eyaen Benin City, Edo State for her Secondary Education from 1994–2000. She obtained her first degree certificate (B.ed) from Delta State University Abraka, Delta State from 2006–2009. She proceeded to Ignatius ajuru University of Education Port Harcourt where she obtained her master’s in early childhood and primary education from 2017-2019 and currently running her PhD programme in the same department and institution. Owushi Ngozi Justina is a teacher. She taught at intellect group of schools Igue-Eya, Benin city, Edo state and Ema Dominion international School Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Currently, an assistant lecturer in the Department of Early childhood and primary education University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She has presented conference papers and has also published many articles in national and international journals. Owushi Ngozi Justina is a member of ECAN.
